Our Employment Project is a nationwide initiative, funded under WorkAbility: Inclusive Pathways to Work, a government scheme designed to improve employment outcomes for people who are blind or vision impaired.
Through a range of tailored supports, we help participants gain the skills, confidence and tools they need to find and sustain rewarding employment.
What we offer
Our team provides a person-centred, individualised approach to every participant. Supports include:
Career guidance and planning
CV and cover letter development
Group workshops focused on soft skills (confidence, communication, peer support)
Assistive technology assessments and training
Interview preparation and coaching
Job specific mentoring
Orientation, mobility and route training
Counselling supports
Advice on rights and entitlements
Employer engagement and advocacy
Sourcing work experience opportunities
For employers
We work in partnership with employers to highlight the value, capability and talent of employees who are blind or vision impaired.
Beyond raising awareness and promoting inclusive employment, we actively collaborate with employers to:
Source suitable job opportunities
Co-design and tailor roles to match organisational needs and individual strengths
Adapt and refine workplace tasks to support long term success for both employer and employee
