Ideas & Inspiration

Fun activities for everyone

There are many wonderful activities and events which our supporters have created over the years. Here are some ideas but it's up to you what you do. Ensure your activity is of interest, safe and is in keeping with the values and core purpose of our organisation.

Bake a Creation, Make a Donation

Encourage your community to bake a doggy-themed treat and make a donation! Participants will take a photo of their sweet treat, post it on Facebook, and donate €5 or another amount to your JustGiving page or Facebook Fundraising page! Participants will be asked to tag 5 friends and challenge them to rise to the bake-off challenge. Donate and tag type challenges have proven to be a successful way of utilising social media to gain momentum for fundraisers.

Why not ask your local bakeries to get involved? Or how about a local chef who might endorse the challenge and maybe even be the judge? If they are active on social media, it's a great way to engage with a wider audience and also a win for the local bakery or chef who can promote their own business.

One Million Steps

This exciting fundraising event is a perfect opportunity to gather participants in your local community to walk a combined total of One Million Steps in 30 days. Obviously, the more participants, the easier the load! Each day, everyone tracks their steps and posts details online, which is key to building momentum and raising donations.

Speak to local business, sports clubs, community groups, walking groups and ask them to get involved. Consider also sending them links to your JustGiving fundraiser and asking them to posting on their own social media channels.

Doggy-related Zoom Quiz

Categories of wacky questions for family, friends and neighbours who want to put their canine knowledge to the test. You could play for pride or liaise with local businesses to see if they might donate a prize for the winner.

Nominate your Quizmaster and send entrants the Zoom link once they donate to JustGiving.

Luke & Kain

Luke is still non-verbal but when I see him smiling down at Kain it shows me he doesn’t need words to express how happy he is.

Kim & Jango

Meeting Jango was one of the best moments of my life. He’s a beautiful big cuddly dog with the personality to match. From the moment I met him I knew we were going to be best buddies.

Shauna & Esme

When I needed a hand, I found a paw.

Conor & Quelda

When Conor is with Quelda he smiles and is comfortable being out and about which is such an amazing gift – we never leave home without her. She has changed all of our lives.

Aran & Buttons

Being a Guide Dog Owner is such a privilege and positive experience. Buttons has enhanced my life in so many ways and I will always be grateful for that.
