Join our PAWsome team of Volunteers and become part of our Community working together to change lives.
Our community of Puppy Raisers are the essential foundation support for our pups in their initial stages of training.
Mind our puppies and dogs on a short term basis.
Spare an hour or two to support our events and activities in your community and make new friends along the way.
Sign up to the Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind Transition Year (TY) Programme and find out how you can make a difference to others and change lives.
Education and awareness is key to inspiring future Volunteers and supporters of our work changing lives. If you are interested in learning all about us and our PAWsome dogs you can request an educational presentation.
Take two 8-week-old puppies for a week and introduce them to all sorts of sounds and experiences so they are strong and ready to move onto Puppy Raising.
Breeding Dog Volunteer
Help us create the next generation of Guide or Assistance Dogs by adopting a Breeding Dog and caring for it in your home.
Rehome one of our dogs that have been withdrawn from training or retired from working life and give them their forever home.
Support our Dog Care and Welfare team in Cork by helping them with grooming, preparing feeds, play sessions, walking etc.
Our National Training Centre is always busy. If you have time and would like to be a regular Volunteer please get in touch. Hours are flexible to suit you.
Luke & Kain
Luke is still non-verbal but when I see him smiling down at Kain it shows me he doesn’t need words to express how happy he is.
Kim & Jango
Meeting Jango was one of the best moments of my life. He’s a beautiful big cuddly dog with the personality to match. From the moment I met him I knew we were going to be best buddies.
Shauna & Esme
When I needed a hand, I found a paw.
Conor & Quelda
When Conor is with Quelda he smiles and is comfortable being out and about which is such an amazing gift – we never leave home without her. She has changed all of our lives.
Aran & Buttons
Being a Guide Dog Owner is such a privilege and positive experience. Buttons has enhanced my life in so many ways and I will always be grateful for that.
