Our Employment Vision Project is a nationwide initiative funded under WorkAbility: Inclusive Pathways to Work, a government scheme designed to improve employment outcomes for people who are blind or vision impaired.
Through tailored, person-centred support, we help participants build the skills, confidence and tools they need to find and keep rewarding work.
What we offer
We provide individualised support based on each person’s needs, goals and experience. Our team works with participants to help them prepare for employment and take the next step with confidence.
Support may include:
- career guidance and planning
- CV and cover letter support
- interview preparation and coaching
- job-specific mentoring
- assistive technology assessment and training
- orientation, mobility and route training
- group workshops on confidence, communication and peer support
- counselling support
- advice on rights and entitlements
- support sourcing work experience opportunities
Person-centred support
Every participant is different, so our support is shaped around the individual. We take time to understand your goals and help you build a path towards employment that works for you.
This means practical support, encouragement and guidance at every stage of the journey.
Support for employers
We work with employers across Ireland to promote inclusive employment and highlight the value, talent and capability of employees who are blind or vision impaired.
We do more than raise awareness. We also work directly with employers to create opportunities and support long-term success in the workplace.
How we work with employers
We can support employers to:
- source suitable job opportunities
- shape roles around organisational needs and individual strengths
- adapt tasks and working practices to support success
- improve workplace accessibility
- build staff awareness and confidence around inclusion
We also provide guidance on workplace adjustments, assistive technology and practical supports that can help employees thrive.
Supports for employers
Employers may be able to access a range of statutory supports, including the Wage Subsidy Scheme and Work and Access supports.
We can also help with grant applications, workplace equipment assessments, assistive technology recommendations, accessibility guidance, and staff awareness and inclusion training.
