Dominique & Minnie

Being vision impaired all my life, I first got acquainted with Irish Guide Dogs when I trained with my first Guide Dog Holly in 2003. This was a journey that transformed my life, mobility and independence massively.

Then in 2011 I trained with my successor Opal.

And in 2020 I trained with my current Guide Dog Minnie, my beautiful little white Labrador. This was to be a huge transformation for me because six years ago I lost my sight, and have never seen Minnie, but seen Holly and Opal.

Irish Guide Dogs has really enhanced my independence, freedom and mobility, and I can never express or put into words what you all mean to me, professionally and personally. Not to mention the fantastic companionship that having a Guide Dog brings. No other charity or dog has captured my heart and life the way Minnie and Irish Guide Dogs have!
