We were delighted to celebrate our 50th Anniversary with a special reception at the Mansion House, Dublin, on Tuesday, 2 June 2026.
Kindly hosted by the Lord Mayor of Dublin, Councillor Ray McAdam, the event brought together clients, supporters, volunteers, staff, and friends of the organisation for an evening of reflection, celebration, and connection.
The Mansion House is a particularly meaningful setting, as it was here that IGD held our very first meeting.
Guests enjoyed the opportunity to mark five decades of life-changing work and to recognise the many individuals whose dedication and support have helped shape the organisation's journey.
Particularly poignant speeches were delivered by Assistance Dog owner Renaith Keane and Guide Dog owner Donnacha McCarthy, who shared powerful personal accounts of the transformative impact our work has had on their lives. Their stories highlighted the real difference that guide and assistance dogs make every day and served as a moving reminder of the importance of the our work.
We extend our sincere thanks to the Lord Mayor for his generous hospitality and to everyone who joined us to commemorate this important milestone.
