Teach A Dog

The idea

Our experienced Training team will provide you with a video showing one of our trainers giving basic instructions on how to teach your dog five different tricks/tasks.

The video will enable the public to learn some simple techniques that make it possible for any dog to learn new tricks.

To keep in line with good practice, our trainers will focus on tasks that our working dogs are also taught. For example: sit, down, stay etc.

The idea is to ask the general public to teach their dogs those tricks, posts their videos online and donate.

Income

You can set up a JustGiving page which all participants can donate to. We would suggest each participant donates €5 and tags 5 friends with dogs to get involved.

Promoting

• Encourage your friends & family to watch the video and teach their own dogs how to do the commands and upload the video of their dog to their own Facebook page and use #TeachaDogNewTricks.

• Speak to local businesses to spread the word particularly those whose business relates to dogs/animals e.g. dog groomers, vets, dog walkers.

• If you have connections with any local dog-loving celebrity or sports star why not ask them to get involved and share with their large social media following?

• Using the Event notice template send details of your fundraiser to local radio stations and newspapers.
