Bayley

Bayley is a nine-year-old German Shepherd seeking a special retirement home where she can spend her golden years surrounded by kindness and understanding. She has a gentle soul and thrives in a calm, caring environment with experienced, nurturing people.  

Bayley moves through her days with quiet grace. Each morning, she gently signals when it’s time to go outside, happily following a familiar routine. Mealtime is a comforting ritual—she eats twice daily and flourishes with consistency. Though her sensitive tummy does best with only dry food and a regular schedule, she happily accepts simple treats such as apples or berries, steering clear of rich options like bananas or wet food. She’s not a picky eater and can transition to any dry food designed for sensitive stomachs. Bayley has always enjoyed good health and received a clean bill during her last vet visit.  

This affectionate girl is deeply intuitive and responsive to her owner. She’s uneasy with loud voices, so gentle words and soft tones help her feel secure and cherished. Bayley comes for comfort on her terms, sharing sincere devotion and quiet companionship.  

She has a peaceful temperament and currently lives harmoniously with a resident male cat. However, due to a traumatic past encounter with a pack of dogs, Bayley must be the only dog in her new home. When meeting dogs on walks, she generally ignores them unless challenged by a dominant personality.  

Bayley’s perfect match understands her breed and can offer confident, steady leadership. She bonds especially closely with women and prefers calm households with older children (14+), as energetic or unpredictable environments can overwhelm her.  

Outdoors, Bayley relishes adventures, especially playing fetch and accompanying you on walks with an easy lead, though she’ll try to avoid rain or strong winds, sometimes seeking shelter behind you. She travels calmly and confidently on buses, trains, and planes, and especially loves car rides. Bayley also enjoys quietly watching the world go by from a bench at your side.  

She’s polite and cooperative for grooming and vet appointments, unbothered by thunderstorms, and always lets you know if someone’s at the door.
