Raffle

The idea

The idea for this fundraiser is to gather items of interest from local sports people, artists, authors, chefs and other well-known personalities and to raffle these within their local community. Items such as signed sports jerseys, hurling sticks, photos, posters and paintings are much sought after collectibles and can generate a lot of traction online.

Entries are made by donating through a JustGiving page.

The raffle can be tweaked by offering cookery sessions with a local chef, a golfing lesson with a pro from a nearby golf club or a training session with an athlete.

Income

You can set up a JustGiving page with all those wishing to enter the draw can donate to.

Promoting

• Spread the word amongst your family & friends encouraging them to get involved but also to ask them to drum up support within their own family, friends, neighbours, colleagues etc.

• Place posters in local shops and businesses.

• Post details on your Facebook page which will be key to promoting your raffle. Having some planned content (video or photo updates) will help boost your fundraising efforts. If your raffle is for a sporting item you could ask the sports person to record a short video on their mobile which you can use to promote on your Facebook page. Local sports clubs will be very interested in such items.

• Using the Event notice template send details of your fundraiser to local radio stations and newspapers.
