Luke
Luke is a large, handsome and playfully affectionate young dog. A sensitive soul, he enjoys the company of people and is very responsive in training and handling. Luke enjoys spending time in and around the home and garden.
- Labrador
- Male
- DOB: 09/02/2023
He was raised with older children, so would be best suited to a family with children aged 8 and up, particularly if the family are experienced with larger dogs.
Luke is clean in the home, but due to some health-related concerns, he does require regular access to a garden for toileting purposes.
Luke is lovely social dog who enjoys spending time in coffee shops and frequenting dog friendly establishments.
Luke can be distracted by dogs but, because he is an engaged and enthusiastic dog, this can be managed with consistent training.
Luke loves exploring the world with his nose, but because of his size, this can lead to some very strong pulling for him to access what he wants to sniff. We would encourage that the handler be capable of handling a large, strong dog.
Luke has been known to frequently urinate on walks so on occasion you may find you need to redirect him to appropriate areas for toileting.
Luke was born with a malocclusion issue involving his lower canines. This has been assessed by a specialist who has confirmed that this will not require any treatment for the foreseeable future.
He has been diagnosed with environmental allergies and his skincare routine is a weekly wash with medicated shampoo and twice weekly Cortavance into both ears. In case of flare up, topical treatment of Pyomousse may be required. Preferred food is Royal Canin Derma Comfort.
Application Deadline: 12 October 2024
