As a long-time supporter of the organisation, Sonia’s appeal comes on the back of our initiative to enter a team of walkers over an above our competitive running participants. Staff, volunteers and clients have already signed up to walk the route and we are inviting the public to come along and enjoy the day with them.
Kennels Assistant, Maeve McCluskey (see first left in the photograph adjacent), says: “I am by no means a competitive runner, so I’m excited to have the chance to participate as part of our walking team. It’s always a pleasure to introduce ourselves and our dogs in training to the public, so we hope to attract many new supporters."

Fundraising has proven challenging for us this year and we aim to train a total of 144 people by the end of 2010. It costs approximately €38,000 to breed, train and support a single guide or assistance dog partnership. With services offered free of charge and a reliance on voluntary donations and fundraising for over 85% of our income, we are in need of support to fund the provision of our services.
