Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind is a registered charity, Charity No CHY 6006. We are a company limited by guarantee Reg No 55616. We have a voluntary Board of Directors which is responsible for overseeing the organisation's corporate governance framework. The Board works closely with the Chief Executive to deliver our vision, mission and strategic objectives.

Eddie Murphy (Chair), Co Cork
Eddie retired as the Managing Director of Ford Motor Company, Ireland in December 2014.
Jim Dennehy (President), Co Cork
Co-Founder and President of Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind.
Tom Aplin, Co Dublin
Former Chair of the Board. Chair of the Training & Development Sub-Committee.
Patrick Burke (Vice-Chair), Co Meath
Patrick is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland (ICAI). He recently joined the Merchantile Group. He is the chair of the Audit Risk and Compliance/Investment Sub-Committee and is a member of the Fundraising Sub-Committee.
Nick Palmer, Co Meath
Nick is a Director Planning/Logistics/HR Manager at Kingston Technology International Ltd in Blanchardstown and is a member of the Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind Balbriggan branch. Nick is Chair of the Fundraising Sub-Committee.
Derry Walsh, Co Cork
Derry is a Guide Dog owner and former Long Cane user. He is also a former Chair of the Board. Derry works as Financial Controller with Horgan Lynch Consulting Engineers.
Barbara Clear, Co Dublin
Barbara has been involved with Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind as a puppywalker for 2 dogs - Yosef and Keiza - from 2009 to 2011 and holiday relief puppywalker in 2011. Barbara is a committed fundraiser.
Donna Lang, Co Dublin
Donna has been involved with Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind as a fundraiser with the Sutton-Howth-Clontarf branch for many years and is also a Guide Dog owner.
Jacqui Browne, Co Kerry
Jacqui is a retired disability consultant and is the outgoing Chairwoman of the National Rehabilitation Board. Jacqui is a member of Disability Equality Specialist Support Agency (DESSA), Kerry Community Transport and Kerry Citizens Information Service. She joined the Board in 2014. Jacqui is Chair of the Nominating & Governance Sub-Committee.
Conor Simpson, Co Dublin
Conor Simpson was appointed to the Board on 5th December 2015. Conor’s family were matched with Assistance Dog “Poncho” 2013.
Conor works with IDA Ireland where he holds the position of Regional Manager Mid-East (Meath, Kildare & Wicklow) & Dublin. He has been with the IDA since 2002 and prior to that he worked with Hewlett Packard.
Paula Cogan, Co Cork
Paula Cogan was appointed to the Board in February 2016 and is Director of Sales & Marketing, The River Lee Hotel, Cork, part of The Doyle Collection.
Paula is involved in a number of organisations in Cork such as Cork Chamber and the Cork Convention Bureau.
Terri Doyle, Co Cork
Terri Doyle is married with three children and is an Assistance Dog Owner who lives in Carrigaline, Cork. Terri works as a Sales Executive for Wisetek Solutions Limited. Terri first got involved with the IGDB in 2006 and has, Assistance Dog, Nifty for nearly 10 years. Terri is a Volunteer and also a regular Fundraiser for IGDB. She is a Director on the Board of the National Parents Council of Ireland, and will be stepping down this year. Terri was a member of the Governance Committee for two years and is currently a member of the Communications and Media Committee.
