Ballinasloe local, Noel Glynn, has been using his talent for music as a way to raise funds for Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind. He presented the proceeds of his efforts to the charity’s Chief Executive Padraig Mallon at a recent gig at Hassett’s Pub in Ballinruan, Co. Claire.
This accomplished singer and musician has produced a CD called “From the Heart”, which he has been selling to audiences at performances throughout the country, raising a total of €6,000.
As a client who has benefited from Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind services, Noel says: “Music and song have brought me great comfort over the years and it’s easy to do something I love doing for a charity I greatly value. I’d like to extend my sincerest thanks to members of the public, especially in West Ireland, for their support. It’s their generosity that has enabled me contribute towards the provision of services for people who, like me, are living with sight loss.”
Speaking at the cheque presentation, Padraig Mallon praised Noel for his determination in producing the CD and through his efforts in promoting it, being an excellent ambassador for Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind. He said that Noel is somebody who has not let his disability get in the way of doing something that he loves and is very good at. Padraig added that the Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind was delighted to be in a position to help Noel improve his mobility through training and support, adding that the generosity shown by his listeners clearly shows that they have taken Noel to their hearts.
