The Lord Mayor of Cork, Cllr. Dara Murphy, patron of Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind, paid a courtesy visit to their National Headquarters and Training Centre in Model Farm Road, Cork earlier today.

Accompanied by the Lady Mayoress, Tania Murphy, they enjoyed a tour of the newly refurbished premises and spent some time conversing with staff and meeting a number of guide and assistance dogs-in-training.

The Mayor also undertook a blindfolded walk with a guide dog and described the experience as enlightening.  Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind is due to host an official opening of their revamped premises in the Autumn of this year.
