Meet Michele Munnelley, Puppy Hector's Volunteer Puppy WalkerMichele Munelley, Hector's Puppy Walker

Pup Hector is currently living in Dublin with one of our volunteers, Michele Munelley.  All our puppies go onto the Puppy Walking stage of their training from the age of 6 weeks till they're about a year old.

During their first year, their Volunteer Puppy Walker is responsible for teaching the puppy basic obedience skills while helping to socialise the puppy.  This means helping the pup get used to being around people and animals and being in busy public places.

This first year set the foundation for their future training to become a guide and assistance dog. Having said that though, the great thing about working with a puppy is that its always entertaining, as Michele can attest.
