We need Volunteer Fundraisers to grow our supporter base across the country.
Have you ever considered becoming a fundraiser?
Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind is supported by a network of volunteers across the country who organise fundraising events in their local communities in support of our organisation.
Here are some ways you can help us by becoming a Volunteer Fundraiser:
- Join us as volunteer supporter / helper at a fundraising event
- Become a volunteer fundraiser in one of our local branches in your area
- Organise an event in your workplace, school or college
- Raise funds through a sponsored event such as a dog walk, marathon, hill walk or swim
- Organise coffee mornings or bake sales
- Manage a collection box in your area
- Sell our promotional merchandise including our Christmas cards and Calendars in your town
From church gate collections to golf days and everything in between, our volunteers make all the difference!
Our Fundraising Team will ensure you will have everything you need to become a successful fundraiser from providing training, posters and any equipment you may need.
If you like the social side of life and have an ability to organise things, why not use your talent for a worthy cause. Volunteer fundraising can provide a great opportunity to meet people in your locality, make friends, have fun and make a real difference for blind or vision impaired persons and families of children with autism.
How do I apply to join the network of Volunteer Fundraisers?
STEP 1. Please first read our Guidelines on Volunteering to gain an understanding of our policies and procedures before completing our online application form.
STEP 2. It is also important to note that all our volunteers are required to complete the Garda Vetting Process, which is a compulsory requirement of the Children First Legislation helping to create protection for both our organisation and you as a valued volunteer. If you have not completed Garda Vetting before, kindly download the Garda Vetting Form below as provided by the An Garda Síochána. Once completed, kindly return to:
Volunteer Co-Ordinator
Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind
National Headquarters & Training Centre
Model Farm Road
Cork
Please be sure to mark the envelope "Personal & Confidential".
Please be patient as once the form has been submitted to the Garda Vetting Unit in Thurles, Co. Tipperary, it can take anywhere from 6-8 weeks to process. We will make contact as soon as we receive clearance from the Garda Vetting Unit. Unfortunately, potential volunteers are not permitted to volunteer with our organisation until the Garda Vetting Process has been completed and approved.
STEP 3. Complete our online Volunteer Application Form.
