The New Year brought new dogs to our Training Centre. Our volunteer Puppy Walkers had to say their goodbyes and send off their now mature 1 year old dogs to Cork to start their early training. These dogs include: Upton, Ursa, Toni, Steffi, Sally, Poppy, Nessie, Shelly, Rennie and Tegan. We would be lost without our Volunteer Puppy Walkers!

When they arrive, our Kennel Staff give the dogs a good once over check.  Their Formal Intake Process includes weighing the dog, deciding the correct amount of food to feed, grooming and then giving treatments, if needed. The dogs will also be seen by our local Vet to get a Pre-Training Check.  This is when the Vet will test the dogs joints and general health to make sure he/she is healthy and suitable for training.

Their first week with us is really a ‘getting to know each other’ week. Trainer will work with each dog one-on-one with clicker training and basic obedience. This time helps to form a good bond before taking them out on long walks. They will also get to know their own pack within the kennel environment and within no time they are happy and settled in their new path in life.
